Now Hiring - Storytime in the Park Student Readers - Apply by April 15th

What is Story Time in the Park? 

APS partners with the City of Albuquerque and Bernalillo County parks as summer lunch meal sites.  Story Time in the Park provides families with read aloud sessions, free books, and resources for children and their families. 

Reader Qualifications

  • Enrolled in High School or GED
  • Must have a valid NM drivers license, car insurance, and vehicle as student intern will be driving to either a park or training location, or the ability to go to assigned park or training location.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Organized student with a positive attitude, curiosity, and willingness to learn
  • Willingness to work alone and/or in teams

Indigenous Youth Council Application Now Open – Apply by April 30, 2026

The New Mexico Indian Affairs Department is pleased to share an exciting opportunity for high school students to apply for the Indigenous Youth Council.  This initiative is designed to elevate youth voices, foster leadership development, and strengthen connections across communities.

Qualifications:

  • Must be Native American (enrollment in a recognized Nation, Pueblo or Tribe is not necessary).
  • Reside in New Mexico.
  • Be a high school student Freshman, Sophomore, Junior or Senior in the 2026-2027 school year.
