CEC

The Career Enrichment Center (CEC) is a magnet school in APS that provides opportunities for advanced, in-depth learning for many elective courses. Students from all Albuquerque high schools have an opportunity to enroll in unique CEC elective courses and programs from a variety of career areas that blend strong academic, career, and technical classes to enhance the education of every student. Students who attend CEC for electives remain students at their home high school.
What are the benefits of attending CEC?
- CEC classes are FREE and transportation is provided.
- CEC classes count toward full-time enrollment at your home high school.
- CEC is not a diploma-granting institution; however courses completed are posted directly on the student transcript.
- CEC classes count toward athletic and academic eligibility.
- Some CEC classes offer core high school credit such as AP Physics and AP Chemistry.
- Most courses offered at CEC are not offered at home high schools with a large selection of dual credit course offerings. CEC allows students to meet graduation requirements by successfully completing at least one Dual Credit, AP/Honor, or online course.
- Students may earn professional license or certification from Practical Nursing, Nursing Assistant, EMT or earn hours toward professional licensing in Cosmetology.
