Welcome to BFIN 1115! My name is Amanda Reyes and I am the Director of Financial Capability at Nusenda Credit Union. I have been an educator for 20 years as a classroom teacher, assistant principal, public school advocate, teacher of teachers in the CNM Alternative Teacher Licensure Program, and a ProjectGLAD Trainer with Dual Language Education New Mexico. I received my degrees from the University of New Mexico (go Lobos!) and I am endorsed in Social Studies, Reading, Gifted, and TESOL. My goal is to engage students with guided discussions and financial tools that support their future goals, family, and communities, while providing a pathway for students to enter the expanse field of financial careers.

I am the FinCap (Financial Capability) Curriculum and Engagement Specialist from Nusenda Credit Union. At Nusenda Credit Union, we believe that financial capability is about having the skills, knowledge, confidence and opportunity to effectively manage money and resources. I am passionate about teaching and learning for people of all ages, and helping student with the knowledge and skills in order to have access to an abundance of financial solutions. I hold a B.A. in Elementary Education from the College of Santa Fe, a M.A. in Organization and Information Learning Sciences from the University of New Mexico and endorsements in TESOL and visual arts.
