I am a graduate of the Career Enrichment Center Practical Nursing Program from a long time ago! After graduation, I continued my education and received a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from UNM. In 2005, after working predominately in Pediatric and Maternal Child nursing, I began teaching at CEC. In 2012, I earned my Family Nurse Practitioner degree from University of St. Francis. I have taught all aspects of the CEC Practical Nursing program, spending most of my time as a Senior Instructor. In my free time, I enjoying reading, designing flower arrangements, exercising, outdoor activities and spending time with my family and dogs.

Katrina Roanhorse, MSN RN
Practical Nursing Instructor
I was inspired by my grandmother and aunt to become a nurse. I graduated from UNM in 2014 and ENMU in 2021. Much of my experience comes from medical-surgical floors, where I enjoyed taking care of many patients. I continue to enjoy nursing through teaching students theory, lab, and clinical skills. It is my goal to impart the wisdom, kindness, and humanity needed for the art of nursing care.
James Stapleton, MSN FNP-BC
Practical Nursing Instructor
I have previously taught at the University of New Mexico College for Nursing for 14 years in the Nurse Practitioner program, and have clinical experience in hospital settings, home health, and family practice clinics. I have also been amazed at how much work our students put into the program to reach their dream of becoming a licensed practical nurse. My goal is to help our students reach their educational goals, and pass on what knowledge I have gained over the years.
Patricia Kious, BSN RN
Practical Nursing Program Admissions Coordinator
I have been teaching in the CEC Practical Nursing program since 1998. Currently I am Admissions Coordinator and I love meeting the students and selecting the new incoming nursing class.
Nancy Bartlett, MSN RN
Practical Nursing Program Clinical Coordinator
I have been a nurse for many years and can’t seem to give it up! After a career practicing nursing in a variety of areas, I began teaching which I did for several years. Now I enjoy working with CEC faculty, students, and the facilities who host our students. I also enjoy time with friends, my children and grandchildren, as well as reading, cooking, and knitting.
