END OF GRADING PERIOD: Feb 14th marks the end of the first 6th week grading period for this semester. 
OPEN HOUSE: There will be an Open House for CEC classes on Feb 20th at 5:45pm. Come see the classrooms, meet the teachers, and hear more about CEC programs for next year. Applications for CEC classes are Due March 13th and will be handed out in advisory (along with the CEC Course Offering Book) in February. ALL students MUST complete a CEC application for any course request for next year. 
CEC NEXT YEAR: The application on the website for CEC is open for next year. Apply online at https://www.cec-reg.com/ before March 13!! 
PRE-REGISTRATION: ECA students will begin Pre-Registration for next year in their advisory Feb 19. Students will get CEC books, copies of their transcripts, and pre-reg cards to complete to request classes for next year. Students MUST get signatures from their Math and English teachers to move into Advanced/AP or Honors classes and return cards to advisory on Feb 26th. All CEC applications are due by March 13th for priority consideration in next year’s classes. Student must apply to CEC classes separately online at https://www.cec-reg.com/
ACADEMIC AWARDS NIGHT: Students with Academic Awards and National Honor Society Inductees will be recognized on Feb 11 at 5:45 in the Albuquerque High PAC. Invitation letters will go out soon. 
ECA LOTTERY: The ECA Lottery will be held Feb 3rd. Students will only be included in the lottery if they have tested and have turned in their application with a transcript before Jan 31st. 
NO SCHOOL: There will be NO SCHOOL on Feb 17th. 
COUNSELOR OUT: I will be off campus much of January and February- going out to other schools to talk about CEC classes and pre-registration. Please email me at ramsey_l@aps.edu if you need to reach me, or contact Ms Floryance in my absence.

COLLEGE 101 
You’re invited to join us at the upcoming HSF College 101 – Albuquerque at Cibola High School on Wednesday, February 12th. This is a FREE, bilingual, two-hour workshop for high school students and their families, where you will receive valuable information about how to prepare, plan, and pay for a college education! Presentations will be delivered in both English and Spanish on the following topics:
• College preparation courses and activities 
• Financial aid and scholarships 
• Applying to and choosing a college 
• This event is FREE and open to the public, however space is limited. See below for further event and registration details. 
Where: Cibola High School 1510 Ellison NW Albuquerque, NM 87114 
When: Wednesday, February 12, 2020 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m. 
Cost: Free admission. Light dinner and refreshments will be provided. 
Participants will also have the opportunity to interact with HSF Scholars, Alumni, and supporters, including local business leaders, sponsors, and educators. Registered guests who attend will be automatically entered into our raffle to win prizes! Registration will close once capacity has been reached. Secure your ticket by registering today!
